About Yoga - Bihar School of Yoga
Bihar Yoga is a system of yoga which incorporates practices derived from ancient and traditional sources specifically selected for modern living. Bihar Yoga uses asanas (postures) to balance the body and mind through the physical body, pranayama (breathing practices) to work on the energy body (equated with Ki or Chi in other systems), and meditation to calm and focus the mind.
Head, heart and hands
Bihar Yoga is a classical, holistic system of yoga. The practice of Bihar Yoga offers profound positive effects to the whole person – the body, mind, emotions and energy. It differs from other styles of yoga in that it focuses on the multiple layers of our being (body, breath & mind), rather than exclusively on the physical body.
There is an emphasis on awareness and self-understanding at all levels.
